Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
